Humpty Dumpty

Humpty Dumpty is famous nursery rhyme. But for my son, it is a scary character. From the time he has started to see BabyTv and recognize shapes, he is scared of Humpty Dumpty animated song. At one point of time, the moment the song begins, he burst into tears and even will start to tremble out of fear. Now, he is a grown up.So, when ever the song is showed, he just switches the TV off. The positive side of this is, in night when he refuses to go to bed, all I have to say is, Humpty Dumpty is waiting outside the door. Next minute he is ready to sleep...Not a ideal way to get a little one to bed. But no choice. Don't know how long this trick will work. Living in the moment and making use of the opportunity.

First music recording

Yesterday, his dad got him a piano with a mike. He was so excited that he made me open it even before we left the shop. In car I showed him how to use the mike. After that he didn't put the mike down till we reached home. First craft session with friends

Last Friday (14th May 2010), Sanjiv went for his first craft/painting get-together at his friend's place. Thanks Charan for having us at your place. It was fun seeing the young artist. We, mothers initially planned to make all the kids sit and do some craft. In first 5 min we gave up that idea and turned into painting..The next five minutes we totally gave up that idea as well. Finally it turned out to be a nice cake and dance party. Whatever we all had great fun...Some pictures from the so called painting session.....

Nice way to start a day....

Today, morning around 6.45, Sanjiv woke Murali who was in nice early morning deep sleep. Sanjiv insisted that Murali should get down from bed. Even in that sleepy mood, he obeyed his son's order thinking that maybe he wanted to play with him.Truth is,Murali didn't have any other choice. Murali got down from the bed just to realise that Sanjiv wanted him to be out of the bed for not to play but for Sanjiv to lie down on the pillow.I just couldn't help but laugh. Murali was occupying just one side of the bed. Sanjiv had rest of the bed for himself and also too many other pillows. But at 6.45 in the morning, he wanted only the pillow Murali was sleeping. Have a good laugh by thinking how the reaction on Murali face.

Happy Mothers day

Sanjiv is too small to realise that it was Mothers day yesterday. Nevertheless, I told him 'Sanju today is mothers day. Can you say happy mothers day.' I don't know what he understood, but in his own sweet language he immediately said something which sounded like 'Maathars dai'. Even that made me very happy. Love you baby.
I wished my mother. We all went out for a nice Mexican dinner. It was a happy mothers day for me and my amma.

"Please"

Now, Sanjiv is in interesting stage. He is exploring the world and learning to understand all kinds of emotions. By self learning, he learnt that by shedding few drops of tears he can easily get things done in his way. If tears doesn't help, then crying loudly will definitely work. Murali just don't like this habit(he thinks one person with this habit is enough and that one is me. Everytime I succeed in Stage 1 'tears' itself.)...He concluded that as I am too grown up he can't change me but it is easy to change little baby.
So, every time Sanjiv tried this trick on him, he was stubborn enough to say 'No' . He should have stopped there. But he went one step ahead and said, if you want something then say 'Please' and thats where it backfired.
In a week or so, Sanjiv learnt that crying is not going to work on his father and even on me. But he still tries his luck on his granny and she give up easily. Now, the difficult part is, if he wants something then he keeps an innocent face and say 'Pleeease'. He does this not only when he wants something from us but also with his age group kids in playground. We usually give off when he says 'please' but the kids, no way. so, he gets angry on them.So,now we are trying to make him to share his toys and play together.
What is back firing on my hubby is, Sanjiv says please even if he wants my hubby's company laptop. And Murali has to give in as this is something he has taught him. He has tough time getting it back safely. All the best dear hubby.

Favourite Songs

Saniv has his own playlist. He likes to hear different songs at different times of the day.
When he is in playful mood, he likes to hear Lady bug, Ringa-Ringa-Roses and Head-knees and toes rhymes.
For sleeping it has to be Twinkle-Twinkle little star and Rock-a-baby
His all time favorite is a nice classical song. He even tries to hum this song. It is 'Yenna thavam seithanai Yashodha..' He simply loves this song.

Shopping

Last weekend we went to Takashimaya shopping mall in sgp. On the 4th floor there was this interesting concept store with wooden toys for kids. I dont know about Sanjiv but I simply loved the toys (didn't like the price tag on them)....He was happilyy shopping around for himself.. Didn't buy anything he picked up as he didn't check the price tag. One of the toy was good and it was not way too costly. So brought that for him. He was happy to come out of the store with just that one toy.
