Story telling

Usually, I tell bed time stories to Sanjiv. I don’t read out of any book. With Dora and Diego as main character, I create a story with the message I want to convey to Sanjiv. Yesterday, for some reason he wanted his dad to tell the story of Dora and Diego. Since this week in his school they are learning about ocean and sea related stuff, Murali decided to build the story about this. And then a comedy episode for me started.....


For some time, I didn't know who was driving the story line. I heard Sanjiv contributing to the story more than Murali.

Murali: Diego and Dora put the boat in the car and go to beach.
Sanjiv: papa, boat is too big, can't take it in the car.

Murali: On the way they see monkey stuck in the tree.
Sanjiv: Monkey can jump from one tree to another tree. It can't be stuck.

Murali: Diego and Dora have the save crocodile..
Sanjiv: Crocodile can swim fast..We dont have to help them.

Poor hubby, somehow managed to complete the story..The finishing touch was, he asked me to rate his story telling skill...Tad came the answer from Sanjiv, so so bad papa..Amma’s story is good.

Now, I know that I have to keep away from playground. Else I will get the same response. High time me and Murali make a pat. He will teach him sports and I will take care of bed time story.

Gurl/guy

Wondering what is so much about the title. Sanjiv was calling out, 'hey gurl and guy come here and see this'...wondering whom he was calling out...It was me and Murali whom he was calling...yes, u got it right...Me and Murali..i told him that it is ok to call some unknown kid as gurl and guy but definitely not us.... I insist he calls us amma and appa (any language will do)....
Looks like I need to concentrate more on his language style...

Interesting conversation

This little conversation happened between me, Sanjiv and my hubby in the evening. That day, I had left early for office and Murali was the one to get Sanjiv ready and drop off at school...In the evening,I was in washroom and they both were in the bedroom...I heard them playing for 2 min and then a fight broke between them (nothing unsual though)...and as usual I didn't know the reason. Then my husband calls me out and tells me,
Murali: ' He is beating me.'...Before I can respond to him, I heard
Sanjiv: 'Mom, pappa wasted lots of Shampoo in the morning'...
I had to give the judgement...To be unfair to husband and fair to son (nothing unusal about this as well :)-, I questioned Murali first.
Me: 'Did you waste shampoo'
Murali 'No'
Sanjiv 'No he wasted lot'
Me:'Kanna can you please tell the truth'
Murali is childish style :'Yes mama, little'
Me: 'So, what do u say'
Murali again in childish tone,'Sorry'
Me:'Ok, Sanjiv now you tell me did u beat papa'
Without a moment of hesitation, he replied in same style and tone as Murali....
Sanjiv: 'Yes mama, little and I am sorry'....

My son is great actor...day by day he is becoming good at imitating others...Hopefully this will be a profession/hobby for him and not his character....

Why Eton House ?

His school name is Eton House. Yesterday, just before dropping him off at school, he asked me, "Amma why Eton House ?..This is not house. this is school. It should be Eton School"...I was totally caught off guard. I had to rattle my little brain for a quick answer. Told him that at school they want to make him feel at home, that's why they call it Eton house. Not sure if he really understood what I want to convey, but he responded back with 'Ohhhh ok'.

Now need to check with his teacher on what her explanation would be :)-

Reason for not going to School - Mom woke up late

Last Thursday, Sanjiv didn't go to school as he had slight fever. On Friday, when my dad went to pick him up from school, Sanjiv's teacher told my dad that it is ok to send him to school even if it gets late in the morning. As the context was not clear my dad asked why what happened and whether he was late in the morning. Teacher told him that when she asked Sanjiv why he didn't come to school the previous day, he has told her 'Mom woke up late so he didn't come to school'...All dad could do was smile and tell her the actual reason was he was having fever.
This little boy is all out there to spoil my name. For every one's information, I wake-up daily around 6-6.30 just to ensure that he reaches school by 9.00am....
Making him get ready on time is becoming a great challenge for me...

The kids from my son's class performed a small skit for the book week. Have fun watching the same. I am very proud to see him perform this with just one day practice .
