We went to Universal Studio Singapore last Saturday. It was fun. We went in all the rides where his height permitted. Even though I don't enjoy roller coaster, I didn't want to seed the fear in him. So, I put a brave face and went along with him and Murali. As per the instruction, it was kid's friendly...In the sense it was not very big one with twist and turns. But still the speed and turns did make me feel insecure. To my surprise, Sanjiv enjoyed the ride and he wanted to go for one more time...
He came along in all the rides but didn't like the ones that was in dark environment like Madagascar ride, 4D and Camera,Action...He came out of these shows and coolly said,I don't like being in dark. Hmmmm quite reasonable.
He was fully engrossed in Water world show. He liked all the commotions.
He was very happy to receive the license after driving the car off the cliff edge. The ride was called Treasure hunt...Hardly saw any treasure though.
The ultimate fun was in Transformers ride.I didn't know what to expect in this ride. His height permitted and we saw long queue. The waiting time was 45 min. Since we had express pass, we had separate queue and hardly any waiting. So, we went in thinking it was very good. In fact it was very good but bit too much for 4 years old.
It was with 3D glasses and simulator of fast riding vehicle. As it started and he saw big over sized robots walking towards him and got scared. He was like, mom, lets go back. Again, to get rid of his fear, I told him that he needs to shoot all the bad robots and I joined him in the shooting. He really brought that and kept his fingers as gun and didn't change style until end of the show. In the end, one of the robot, says 'Well done, you saved the world'. He was so glad to hear that. After coming out, he said, 'Amma that Robot, said well done to me and you only, not to appa. He didn't do any shooting'. He is not brave.' :)-

BBQ with school friends
Thanks to Sana's parents for arranging a BBQ for kids. They got to enjoy the company of each other outside the school environment. Also, parents got a chance to catch-up with each other with more than just a hello and bye.

Sleeping posture
For past 2 weeks, I see that he has developed a new style of sleeping. So, I thought it is good idea to record it here and see how many more update I do to this post.
Most of the sleeping habit's stated below is when he starts to sleep...once he sleeps, he is all over the bed...
0 - 3 months - No idea...Too tired from diaper change and feeding...
3 months -1.5 years - Cradle
1.5 years to 2 years - On my lap on our bed....
2 Years - 2.6 years - On his father's chest...
2.6 years - 3 years - He ask us to build a fort using all the pillows. And sleeps inside that fort.
3 years to until past 2 weeks - He was sleeping beside us and have to tell him story and have to tell him he is a baby.
Past 2 Weeks to ? - He wants to hold my hand across the chest....
Next what ?

Trip to India
We went to India for my cousin Banu's wedding. Sanjiv as usual was very excited to get all the attention and love from his grandparents and uncles & aunties. He enjoyed playing with cousins.
What struck me in this trip is his memory power. He could remember the toys where he left during his previous trip (8 months back).
As usual bike ride and feeding the cow was his full time entertainment. I was able to feed him using these two as my tramp card. Not sure for how many more trips I can utilize that.
After coming back to Singapore, he parks and starts his cycle as we did with my Kinetic Honda.
We are yet to unpack his bike we got from India...Will post the pictures soon....

Happy Mother's Day
Happy Mother's Day.
I would like my son to know which day, I really consider as Mother's day. In my opinion, every living soul should celebrate their b'day as their mother's day. Because that is the day she went through all the pain and risk of bring the life to this world. That is the day she became Mother. That's the day she was very very happy.

Don't worry
Sanjiv was riding his cycle fast. I told him to be careful in a worried voice. For that his response was don't worry mama , I will always be careful. I just hope that he is always careful and responsible in his life.

Skating
Finally, I managed to take Sanjiv for skating class....He and his friend Rhea were super duper excited...They in fact wanted to go for ice skating. But unfortunately the ice skating is for only kids 6+....
We managed to get the kids ready and the moment Sanjiv was fully geared, he wanted to skate....He didn't know that it was not that simple as it looks...
So I made him sit on the floor as instructed...The instructor directed the kids on how to sit and knee down and then how to stand up...so far he followed the instruction...
The instructor asked the kids to repeat the basics again. And this is where the fun started...Sanjiv was more interested to skate like pro than to repeat the very basic steps again and again. He refused to listen to the instructor..All he wanted to do was skate like bigger kids and told that instructor that he wanted to do only that and nothing else...
The instructor was trying to explain to him that first he has to stand up, then walk and then skate...but he was like, I know to stand-up and walk...He told that instructor that he will do it on his own...The instructor just let him do whatever he wanted to do...He kept trying and trying on his own to stand-up...With little help from me...he managed to stand and balance on his own for sometime...he even managed to move forward...That itself is a quite a achievement for first day...Well done Sanjiv...Good job....
Even though it is not the right way to learn things, I still like the his confident and mind set that he can learn something on his own...I like the interest he shows and the energy he has....

Chalk work by Rhea
This chalk work was shared by Rhea's mom. I just wish that at every stage of his life, he gets good friends....
Rhea's description of her chalk work is
'The sun, clouds and in the sky are African Vultures. Two boys are Anshuman and Sanjiv and both have trees beside them. They are walking with Blaze (Rhea's dog) at the beach !!!!!!'
